Height: Deciduous shrub, 2 meters high. The branches are erect and spread out, the branchlets are cylindrical, slightly curved, purple-brown or dark brown.

Leaves: The leaves are ovate to elliptical, 3-9cm long and 1.5-5cm wide. The apex is sharp and rounded, and the edges are sharply serrated. The petiole is about 1cm long.

Flowering Period: March-May

Flowers: Flowers bloom before leaves. The pedicel is short and thick, about 3mm long, or sessile. Calyx tube bell-shaped, hairless. The flower diameter is 3-5cm, and the petals are obovate or nearly round.
